This is the Los Angeles Rare Bird Alert for May 19.

A NEOTROPIC CORMORANT has been seen off and on at Bonelli Regional Park in San Dimas, with reports continuing through May 18. On May 16 two individuals were present. The birds have primarily been by the north side of the reservoir. Also at Bonelli was a COMMON LOON from May 13-15.

At least one YELLOW-CROWNED NIGHT-HERON continued to be reported at El Dorado Park in Long Beach through May 13. Sightings have been east of Snake Road in Area 2 and also at the Nature Center pond south of Spring Street.

VERMILION FLYCATCHERS continue at the Castaic Sports Complex, with six observed there on May 13.

Another three VERMILION FLYCATCHERS continued at Oakdale Memorial Park in Glendora through May 18.

A YELLOW-THROATED VIREO was at Sycamore Canyon in Whittier on May 16. It was along the creek just past the parking area.

A NORTHERN WATERTHRUSH at the Piute Ponds on Edwards AFB (letter of permission required for access) on May 16 and a TENNESSEE WARBLER was there on May 14. Both were by the northeast corner of Big Piute Pond. A BLACK-AND-WHITE WARBLER was at the ponds on May 18 along Ave. C east of the gazebo.

A PALM WARBLER continued at Madrona Marsh in Torrance through May 17. The last given location was west of the sump area fence. Preserve hours are 10-5 Tuesday through Sunday.
