The Western Tanager is the chapter newsletter of the Los Angeles Audubon Society, Inc. The Western Tanager is published bi-monthly, Jan/Feb, Mar/Apr, May/June, July/Aug, Sept/Oct and Nov/Dec. Los Angeles Audubon (LAAS) is a chapter of the National Audubon Society (NAS).  NAS members and members of other chapters may receive the print Tanager by joining LAAS.

Articles for submission to the Tanager are due the 1st of the month, two months before the date of the issue. The Western Tanager has been published since 1934. (Volume 1, Number 1 was published in October, 1934.) Digital copies of ALL previous issues of the Western Tanager are available to LAAS Members and researchers. LAAS members and researchers can use our digital archives by calling (323) 876-0202 to schedule archive use.
