Public Awareness Campaign, Disposal of fishing line and hooks

Linda Navroth and Eleanor Osgood, through the Conservation Committee of Los Angeles Audubon, have initiated a public awareness campaign around the hazards to birds in the urban environment.  Many of these hazards are easily mitigated by increasing public awareness and  encouraging people to change their personal habits.

We want to tackle (no pun intended, at least initially), the careless disposal of fishing line and hooks which entangle and impale water birds in our local City and County lakes and in the waters below our jetties and piers.  If you are interested in these issues and wish to help out please let us know by responding to This email address is being protected from spambots.
